Puccetti snc is the very first
company in the province of Pavia to obtain IPPC/FAO certification.
Certification applied by the Phytosanitary Service ensures the protection
of wood used for packagings from possible contaminations, guaranteeing quality
and safety for goods and supplies, especially for shipments to foreign countries
which require it.
This factor constitutes a further element of distinction, in addition
to underscoring our competence and professionalism.
WHAT
IS CERTIFICATION?
IPPC/FAO certification is a phytosanitary marking for wooden
packagings. Ordinance no. 5825, issued on 7 April 2004, stated the criteria
and requisites for the use of the IPPC/FAO marking on wooden packagings.
This ordinance responds to the guidelines for the regulation of Packing
Materials in Wood in International Trade (ISPM 15), approved by the
FAO at the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) in March 2002.
The ISPM 15 guidelines aim to reduce the proliferation of forest parasites
for wooden packagings employed in international trade. The conformity
of packagings to FAO standards is certified by application of a specific
international marking (IPPC/FAO) under the surveillance of the Phytosanitary
Service in each country, through a specific surveillance and monitoring
programme for certification systems, and the usage of the IPPC/FAO marking
on wooden packagings. |
